80's and, over the years, several cartels that control the illegal drugs market
have been formed, expanded and disappeared in Mexico.

The origin
of drug trafficking in Mexico comes from the early twentieth century in the
state of Sinaloa.

to security analysts, it is attributed to an implicit arrangement that existed,
since the early 80's, between drug dealers and state and local governments.

As well as
the later termination of this arrangement with the war that the Mexican state
declared to the cartels since the mid-2000s.

This
"government-drug trafficking" arrangement consisted of allowing the
free passage of drug shipments from South America to the United States through
border routes.

exchange for large amounts of money as a bribe for Mexican authorities and
rulers.
